Ongoing LHBS supported projects:

  1. The Julie Rohr Park, located at 140 Street and 78 Avenue, will be a testament to the lasting legacy of a woman who selflessly devoted her energy to the betterment of the Laurier Heights community and beyond.

Julie Rohr: a beacon of inspiration and hope for generations to come. This campaign is aimed at transforming the park space into an even more welcoming and vibrant place for all. Inspired by Julie's commitment to community engagement and her passion for creating spaces where children and families could thrive, the campaign aims to enhance the park's facilities and amenities. Through collective efforts, the community aspires to create a space that reflects Julie's spirit of inclusivity, love, and togetherness. Together, we can carry forward Julie's legacy and create a lasting tribute to her remarkable contributions to the community.

Past projects and initiatives that have received LHBS support:

1. New Laurier Hall & Tennis Courts: LHBS proudly contributed to the creation of the New Laurier Hall, a dynamic community space that hosts a myriad of events and activities. This modern facility serves as a hub for gatherings, meetings, and celebrations, bringing residents closer together. The tennis courts were completed as part of the capital campaign development for the new hall.

2. Gazebo Park: LHBS recognizes the importance of green spaces within our community and invested in the development and maintenance of the beautiful Gazebo Park. This serene oasis, situated on land leased through LHBS & LHCL efforts, offers a tranquil escape and a perfect setting for leisurely strolls and outdoor gatherings.

3. Heritage Hall Upgrades: LHBS has been instrumental in preserving the history and charm of the Heritage Hall. Through their funding, this original community landmark has undergone essential renovations, ensuring it remains a cornerstone of Laurier Heights for generations to come.

4. Rink Shack Improvements: In our winter city, LHBS has supported the improvement of the Rink Shack. These enhancements have made it a more comfortable and inviting place for families to gather and enjoy ice skating and hockey during the long winter months.

5. Pickleball Court Development: Responding to the growing interest in pickleball, LHBS invested in the development of dedicated pickleball courts. This initiative has not only provided a new recreational option but also fostered a sense of community and active living.
