Take a deep breath.
This program introduces a variety of breathing techniques designed to boost the delivery of oxygen to the body and brain, which helps to strengthen the lungs and muscles while improving overall breathing. You will learn and practice simple exercises that serve a variety of purposes. Through demonstration, explanations and repeating exercises, students learn the correct physical posture and mental attitude for effective deep breathing. This program is effective for anyone, regardless of their level of fitness and strength.

LHCL PlayGroup is Back!
We are piloting meeting on Thursday mornings from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at the Helen Richards Heritage Hall. Parents/Caregivers of infants, toddlers and preschoolers (0-5 years) are invited to join us at the Laurier Heights Community Hall for unstructured play and socializing. The children will love the toys, books, and playing with each other, while you have the opportunity to meet and visit with other families in the neighbourhood.

Community Potluck Dinner
Join us for the LHCL Community Potluck on Friday, August 29th. Potlucks are held in the main hall and start at 6:00 PM. If you can come a bit earlier and help set up tables and chairs, that would be greatly appreciated!

LHCL Green Shack
Get active and join us for games, sports, crafts, music, drama and special events this summer. The Green Shack program is a free drop-in program catered to children ages 6 to 12; however, all are welcome.
Green Shack program leaders host games, challenges and activities that are sure to get kids active and having fun. A list of activities and special events will be posted on the side of the Green Shack each week. No registration is needed — all activities are free drop-in!

Laurier Heights School RUNRAISER
On Friday, June 6, 2025, from 5:00 -10:00 pm, the Laurier Heights School Runraiser will be back again at the community league! We welcome ALL in the community. Please join us for food trucks, a beer garden, and a good cause. 😃
The theme for this year's Runraiser is 'Outdoor Learn and Play'. Students are collecting pledges for a multi-year project, which will include a Division 2-focused playground (grades 4 to 6) and upgrades to the existing playground.
Our fundraising goal this year is $40,000. All donations of $20 or more will receive a charitable tax receipt.

Alex Stieda Bike Races
Come out and cheer on the racers at the Alex Stieda Bike Race on Sunday, June 1, starting at 9:30 AM! This exciting event brings top cyclists to our neighbourhood, and everyone is welcome to watch and support. At 11:45 AM, the Kids Bike Race takes off around a fun 1 km loop—all kids can participate, just be sure to arrive early at the start line.
Enjoy a hotdog BBQ from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, hosted by Laurier Heights Community League, with all proceeds supporting community programs.
Community Potluck and Bingo
Everyone is invited to a casual, come-as-you-are LH Community Potluck on Saturday, May 24 at 6:00 PM in the Laurier Room at the Community Hall! Bring a dish to share with neighbors—whatever you can contribute is welcome. If you have dietary restrictions, feel free to bring your own plate. After dinner, stick around for bingo with fun prizes! It’s a great chance to connect and unwind with the community.
Community Clean Up Day
Join us on Saturday, May 10 at 9:00 AM at the Community Hall for our annual Clean-Up Day!
Help us keep the hall and grounds, including the Food Forest, looking their best. All are welcome—gloves, grabbers, garbage bags and refreshments will be provided. Let’s all work together as citizens and neighbours to care for and contribute to the beauty and well-being of our community!

We’re celebrating the long-time residents of our ne3ighbourhood with a special afternoon of tea, treats and community spirit.
